About Me
Avatar

Welcome! I’m Maryam, I am currently employed as a lecturer and researcher (Akademische Rätin auf Zeit) at the Mathematical Institute for Machine Learning and Data Science at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt in Germany. My research focuses on machine learning, data assimilation, modeling, uncertainty quantification, and their applications in the geosciences. During my previous postdoctoral position at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany, I worked on further developing the ICON climate model, setting up and carrying out model simulations to investigate the impact of solar variability on the chemical composition and dynamics of the atmosphere and the surface climate on time-scales from decades to centuries. I hold a PhD degree in atmospheric science from the University of Potsdam in Germany. I also have a master's degree in integrated climate system science from the University of Hamburg in Germany, and a bachelor's degree in natural resources engineering from the University of Tehran in Iran.
